Caellum LLC

An independent software studio in Maryland that ships its own products and builds custom software, automation, and AI for businesses.

What it is

Caellum is the public brand of Caellum LLC — an independent software studio in Maryland, working worldwide. The studio does two things: it builds and runs its own software, and it builds software for other businesses.

The name comes from Caelum — the small southern constellation named for the engraver’s chisel (Latin caelum, “to engrave”). We keep that sense: software as a craft, something to be sculpted, reaching toward the stars.

What we've built

What we build for SMBs

Custom software & web apps

Production web products, end to end — UI, backend, database, payments, security, and deployment.

We build complete web products from the ground up, utilizing modern tech stacks to deliver fast, secure, and responsive user experiences that scale.

Workflow automation

Automating repetitive, manual operations so businesses run with less friction.

We connect APIs, design secure databases, and automate the tedious tasks that drain employee time, letting the business operate efficiently.

AI integration

Set up AI tooling and AI-assisted workflows that fit how businesses already work.

We integrate large language models and intelligent agents directly into existing corporate systems, augmenting human capacity without adding clutter.

Studio Methods & Principles

Deterministic Core, Dynamic Edge

We design core scheduling and gameplay logic as predictable, pure mathematical states, wrapping volatile generative AI models inside strict typing and validation boundaries.

Core algorithms (such as the Rasch TRI forecasting model in Proficio) run on stateless calculations. Volatile LLM outputs are parsed into strict Zod schemas, with validator loops falling back to a structured default upon timeout, failure, or model hallucination.

Direct Client‑to‑Engineer Partnership

We completely eliminate organizational overhead, project managers, and account brokers. Clients communicate directly with the engineer who designs the architecture, codes the frontend, and deploys the servers.

Operational constraints and technical specifications are resolved directly in code during design. This approach eliminates communication drift, speeds up feature iterations, and aligns database schemas directly with business expectations without intermediate translation layers.

Edge-First & Serverless Runtimes

We build systems optimized to run on decentralized global edge networks and serverless sandboxes, ensuring minimal latency, zero server maintenance overhead, and near-infinite scalability.

Hosting client applications on Cloudflare Pages and Vercel. Hybrid-snapshot serverless sandboxes (Vercel Sandbox/Docker) execute resource-heavy tasks (like Python prediction runs and Playwright PDF compilations) on demand, boot-loading in seconds.

Persistent Real-Time Synchronization

We build persistent, low-latency communication servers to handle real-time multiplayer states, preventing server sleep and preserving connections.

Express WebSocket servers deployed to Render (fixed Starter tier to bypass sleep limits) sync client lobbies to a server-side room manager (GameManager) on a continuous 1-second game tick.

End-to-End Type Integrity

We link client frontends, backend brokers, database models, and CLI binaries in unified monorepos, ensuring API contract updates never cause breaking changes.

Unifying Next.js frontends and backend procedures via compile-time validated tRPC routes. Sharing Zod contracts and DB schemas directly, while CLI utilities (compiled via pkgroll) execute core packages in-process.

Multi-Cloud Orchestration

We leverage specialized cloud infrastructures for optimal task distribution—pairing fast serverless hosting with durable SQL stores and secure cloud storage.

Orchestrating Neon Postgres databases, Vercel Blob storage, Supabase authentication, Render Express APIs, and Cloudflare Pages/Functions to construct highly redundant, fault-tolerant ecosystems.
